A religious scholar and social reformer Aga Syed dead

Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) Religious scholar, social reformer and educationist Aga Syed Jaffar Shah died at Kargil this morning.

He was 78.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed grief over the demise of Aga Syed, who was President Islamia High School, Kargil.

Describing Mr Syed as an eminent religious scholar, Mr Azad said that in the demise of Aga Syed Jaffar we have lost a great educationist, social reformer and a religious scholar.

Minister for Transport and Ladakh Affairs Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali, Chairman LAHDC, Kargil Asgar Karbalaie, legislator Ghulam Raza, Nasarullah Khan and other leaders have also sent condolences to the family of the departed soul.

They have described the late Aga as a noble soul who worked for imparting education to the children and rendered selfless service to society.
