11 noted personality to receive 'Rajiv Gandhi Awards' on Aug 19

Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi will distribute 'Rajiv Gandhi Awards', for the year 2006, to 11 noted personality for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields on August 19.

These awards are instituted to commemorate the memory of not only a great visionary late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi but of a man with an endearing personality and admirable ideals, MRCC president Gurudas Kamat said in a statement here yesterday.

The awardees are : Mr Mukesh Ambani (Industrialist), Mr Dhanraj Pillay (Sports), Mr Harsha Bhogle (Journalism), Master Budha Singh (Child Prodigy), Mr John Abraham (Best Actor), Ms Sushmita Sen (Best Actress), Mr Yusuffali M A (Global Indian), Mrs Kalpana Saroj (women Achiever), Mr R M Hadpad (Educationist), Mr Sujit Kumar Singh (Young Entrepreneur) and Ms Palak Muchchal (Social work).
