Youth Cong activists burn Venkaiah's effigy

Tirupati, Aug 10 (UNI) Youth Congress (I) party activists today burnt an effigy of BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu in protest against his statement on Volcker report and proselytisation on the hills here today.

About 100 youth Congress activists led by district leader Ramagopala Reddy also shouted slogans against Venkaiah Naidu's alleged statements on Volcker report that the Congress leader was involved in the case, and also that after Congress came to power at the Centre and in the state, the Christian propagation was spreading over Hindu places and other temple, particularly Tirumala.

The activists alleged that the BJP had been trying to politicise the temple issue and was responsible for creating communal trouble.

They also alleged that BJP, supporting RSS and Sangh Parivar, were behind the painting of Holy cross and slogans on Christianity on the wall of Balaji Nagar resident house, which raked up to reopen the propagation issue.
