Sonia arrives in Guj to visit flooded Surat and Vadodara

Ahmedabad, Aug 10 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi arrived at Harni airport in Vadodara this morning and immediately left to visit the flood-affected city of Surat city.

Ms Gandhi, accompanied with Defence Minister Pranab Mukherji, Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela and AICC secretary Ahmed Patel, arrived at Vadodara in an army aircraft and from there they all immediately left for Surat in a helicopter.

The Congress's Central team was joined by Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharat Solanki and Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Arjun Modhvadia.

On return from Surat, either Ms Gandhi or one of her colleagues are likely brief the press at Vadodara, sources here said.
