SEL bags road construction project worth Rs 560 crore

Ahmedabad, Aug 10 (UNI) Sadbhav Engineering Limited (SEL) has bagged a Rs 560 crore road construction project to improve and widen the Sardar Patel Ring Road around the city, having a total radius of 76 kilometers.

This is Gujarat's biggest project so far to be executed under the Built, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis, said chairman of SEL Vishnu Patel, today.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Patel said the company has received the letter of acceptance of its bid from the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). The construction will be completed within 18 months, including a new bridge over the Sabarmati river near Bhat village.

The total concession period is 20 years inclusive of the construction period. It is the state's first city ring road project and it will serve as a key corridor connecting Ahmedabad with Delhi and Mumbai on one side and the Saurashtra region on another side.

Besides these the AUDA has also granted advertisement rights as per agreed conditions to the company for the entire length of the project highway including all junctions, circles and other important points for the entire concession period of 20 years, Mr Patel added.
