Robert Vadra nominated member of Delhi Golf Club
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra was nominated by the union Urban Development Ministry as a permanent member of the Delhi Golf Club in 2004-05, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
The other member nominated to the Club by the ministry the same year was a senior doctor of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken told the House in a written reply during Question Hour.
-- MONUMENT ENCROACHMENT: A Mughal era national heritage monument in the Malviya Nagar locality of Delhi has been occupied unauthorisedly and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has initiated action to remove the encroachment, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
The Sarai Shahji monument was encroached upon prior to it being declared a national monument in 1988, Tourism Minister Ambika Soni informed the House in a written reply during Question Hour.
The matter of eviction of the encroachers has been taken up with the District Task Force constituted under the orders of the Delhi High Court for removal of such encroachers, the Minister said.
