Return to sultry conditions in Delhi, mercury rises to 37.1 Degree C
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Sultry conditions returned to the capital today with Sunlight, coupled with high humidity levels, resulting in a rise in mercury to 37.1 degrees Celsius even as the lull in ainfall activity continued With Delhi witnessing a predominantly sunny day, interspersed with cloudy intervals, the maximum temperature rose to 37.1 degrees celsus, from 35.3 C yesterday.
And, even though North Easterly winds provided some relief from the heat, it was back to perspiring conditions for people of Delhi as high humidity level of 53 per cent was recorded in the capital today.
Barring some light showers last night which resulted in 1.8 mm rainfall, the national capital has witnessed continuance of lull in rainfall activity over the last 24 hours.
The lull in rainfall, since the heaviest rainfall of the Monsoon season on July 26, has led to a rise in mercury over the last couple of days. Yesterday too, the maximum temperature was 35.3 degrees Celius.
The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas during the next 24 hours.
