Pondy admn to reimbuse tuition fees of CENTAC students: CM

Pondicherry, Aug 10 (UNI) The Pondicherry administration will reimburse the tution fees of the CENTAC-selected students in the private professional colleges here, Chief Minister N Rangasamy reiterated in the territorial assembly today.

Replying to a special mention moved by DMK member S P Sivakumar, the chief minister said the government was aware that the colleges were seeking more amount as many parents besides meeting the legislators were coming to him also.

The government was committed to pay the fees it had announced and the amount fixed by the admission committee and the fees committee besides the government fees would be announced in the House by the Minister concerned tomorrow, he said.

Earlier, tabling his special mention, Mr Sivakumar narrated the plight of the students and their parents as the colleges were demanding more money and offered to resign his MLA post if his contention was proved wrong.
