Pak denies new constructions along Indian borders
Islamabad, Aug 10: Pakistan has denied that there was any construction activity going on along the international border with India.
A Pakistani defence official said there was no ''abnormal activity'' going on along the border from Pakistan side.
The Nation newspaper today quoted the official as saying that Pakistan continues to exercise restraint.
He was responding to a statement by Indian Minister of State S Raghupathy in the Lok Sabha stating that Pakistan was engaged in construction of pill boxes, bunkers, new posts, observation towers and defence bunds along the international border.
On the contrary he drew attention to other reports, which suggested that Indian Army has established new posts ''very close'' to the border and that movement of Indian troops along the Line of Control has intensified, saying that these aspects have been brought to the notice of the Indian Director General Military Operations.
He reiterated that despite these reports Pakistan continue to exercise restraint and maintain normal peace time deployment with no extraordinary reconstruction works as reported other than the routine maintenance.
