No unemployment by 2010:Mizoram government

Aizawl, Aug 10 (UNI) Mizoram government has chalked out several plans to prepare a comprehensive five year blue-print on eradicating unemployment problem in the state by 2010.

The project aims to eradicate unemployment problem by promoting young entrepreneurs into IT sectors, small scale enterprises, agricultural and bamboo based sectors.

State chief secretary Haukhum Hauzel, who would be chairperson for the new project, said the government would examine the possibility of creating youth commission to entrust the works of co-ordinating unemployment matters and other related issues.

He further stated the government had also planned to recruit people for the vacant posts of different departments.

"The plans would be submitted to the DoNER ministry for approval of funds," he said.

"We have decided to set up a Sainik school, a nursing college, and various bamboo based industries," he further added.

In a bid to promote IT literacy in the state, the government's blue print emphasised that those in government services and those who would be recruited in the future have to be IT savvy.

Besides this, government had already exempted Value Added Tax (VAT) for all the local industries for the next seven years.
