Nelkathir award for Akampadam Chimbachola Punchakkadu

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 10 (UNI) Akampadam Chimbachola Punchakkadu Padasekhara Samithi at Thenkurisy in Palakkad has been selected for the Nelkathir award 2002-03, instituted by the Kerala government.

Announcing the State Agricultural Awards for the years 2002-03 and 2003-04 here, Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran today said the awards would be distributed to the winners here on August 17-'the farmers day'.

The winners were selected by a four member committee with Agriculture Production Commissioner Mathew Kunnungal as its Chairman, he said.

Even as the government had received entries for Nelkathir award for the year 2003-04, the screening committee could not select any one as none of the entries had maintained the specified guidelines, he added.
