NDA softens its stance on Pathak report
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Softening its stand on the Natwar Singh issue and the Pathak report, the National Democratic Alliance today decided not to disturb proceedings in the Lok Sabha but sharpen its attack against the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi for being a non-contractual beneficiary in the Iraqi oil-for-food scam.
Talking to mediapersons after an NDA meeting held under the chairmanship of Leader of the Opposition L K Advani, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said it was decided to intensify the Opposition attack against Mrs Gandhi, who was an accused along with Mr Natwar Singh in the scam.
Mr Malhotra said an NDA delegation would call on President A P J Abdul Kalam tomorrow evening and submit a memorandum to convey that the Indo-US nuclear deal was against national interest and should not be allowed to fructify.
