National Convention of Civil Engineers in Mysore

Mysore, June 10 (UNI) Over 200 engineers from across the country will take part in the two-day 22nd National Convention of the Civil Engineers to be held here from August 12.

Speaking to reporters here, Convention Organising Secretary C N Babu said the convention would discuss several topics, including irrigation, ground water, watershed development and management, rain water harvesting, urban and rural water supply and public and private sector participation in water services.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would inaugurate the convention and Water Resources Minister K S Eshwarappa release the souvenir. As many as 35 research papers would be presented during the event.

He said four eminent engineers Dr K G Rangaraju and S N Venkata Rao (both from Bangalore), Prof Mahesh Tandon (New Delhi) and N C Saxena (Lucknow) would be honoured on the occasion.

The recommendations of the convention would be sent to the Union and state governments for its consideration.
