Naidu blames govt's failure to provide flood relief
Polavaram, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 10 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu today alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government had failed to provide relief to the flood victims.
Mr Naidu, who visited the flood affected Polavaram with former Minister K Subbarayudu, told newspersons that the state government had miserbly failed to provide food, water and medicines to thousands of flood victims.
He assured the victims that his party would extend full support to them and fight for their cause.
He alleged that the state machinery had neglected the situation.
The government had not taken any action to strengthen the weak bunds of the river, causing the disaster. He alleged the Chief Minister and other ministers were not interested in relief operations.
Mr Naidu announced an ex-gratia to of Rs 25,000 each two persons washed away in Godavari at Polavaram two days back.
He toured Attisam, Polavaram, Singanapalli, Ramayyapet and consoled the flood victims. They complained to the TDP leader that they were not getting proper relief.
He said he was touring the flood affected areas to pressurise the government to take up speedy relief and rehabilitation programmes.
