Master Plan 2021 for absorbing addl population along MRTS corridors
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The Draft Master Plan 2021 of Delhi prepared by the Delhi Development Authority envisages absorption of sizeable proportion of additional population along the Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) Corridors.
The draft plan provides for preparation of schemes of redevelopment of influence zone upto 500 m wide belt on both sides of the centre line of the MRTS route, in which the development controls would be applicable for respective use zones or premises except for the floor area ratio (FAR) and height which would be as per the specific schemes with a maximum limit of upto 1.5 times of the permissible FAR on the respective use premises, sources in the DDA said.
The Delhi Development Act, 1957 provides for final notification of the Delhi Master Plan 2021 on the basis of the recommendatiosn of the board of enquiry and hearing, constituted by the DDA to consider objections and suggestions received in response to the draft Master Plan, and approval of the authority and the Central Government.
Sources in the DDA said the Board and enquiry and hearing has held 14 meetings, including four exclusive public hearings.
The development of Delhi in a planned manner is guided by the Master Plan of Delhi, which is modified from time to time keeping in account the evolving needs, including provisions for permitting motels in agricultural and rural use zones, guest houses, nursing homes and pre-primary schools in residential use zones and hotels in commercial use zones.
