LeT ultras targetting I-day arrested from N Delhi rly station
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Police today foiled a bid to target Independence Day celebrations with the arrest of two hardcore Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, including a Pakistani national, from the New Delhi railway station this evening.
Abu Anas, a resident of Islamabad in Pakistan and Abrar Ahmad who hails from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested while they were getting into an autorickshaw at the New Delhi railway station at 2200 hrs, DCP (special Cell ) Alok Kumar told UNI.
Both, in their thirties, had come from Jammu and Kashmir and were specifically assigned to target Independence Day celebrations, he added.
'' Approximately two kg of RDX and five detonators were recovered from their possession. The two had got down from Platform No eight on the Ajmeri gate side and were getting into an autorickshaw when they were nabbed by the Special Cell sleuths,'' he said.
