Israel's expanded Lebanon offensive begins - TV

JERUSALEM, Aug 9 (Reuters) Israel began its expanded offensive against Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas today, hours after it was approved by the security cabinet, Israeli television reported.

Channel Two's military correspondent on Israel's northern border, Ronny Daniel, said armoured columns were moving into southern Lebanon under cover of intensive artillery fire.
