IBM unveils new version of Rational Software
Bangalore, Aug 10 (UNI) IBM today announced the launch of a suite of 12 new Rational Software (version 7) products in India that would enable greater innovation by automating the software testing process and tracking changes made in software code.
With a 40 per cent share of the US dollar 61 million market in India in 2005, IBM saw India not only as a major buyer of its rational suite of products, but also holding an influence on other buyers across the world who see India as a major destination.
India, having over 700,000 software developers, was looked as a major destination, ahead of China.
The latest version enabled result, development test and production teams to collaborate better and break down silos for improved delivery times, lowered costs and greater software quality, IBM Vice-President (Worldwide Sales for Rational Software) Steve Robinson told newspersons here.
IBM is holding a three-day developers conference for rational software here, with more than 1,000 engineers attending it. Mr Robinson described the meet as the biggest ever.
He said that with the new IBM rational software development platform offerings, IBM allowed organisations to govern their software development as a business process through globally distributed development.
