IAF Plane Set to Take Relief Material to Beirut
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) India is sending a planeload of relief material -- almost Rs 65 million worth -- to Lebanon -- devastated in the wake of Israeli retaliatory attacks.
An Indian Air Force cargo plane carrying almost 25 tonnes of relief material -- comprising some twenty varieties, including tents, canvas and medicines -- will leave for Beirut tomorrow or the day after, defence sources told UNI.
The formalities pertaining to the relief flight were in their final stage, the sources said.
The Israeli bombing has severely damaged Beirut Airport but a strip -- almost two km long -- has escaped the brunt and the plane could land there, the sources added.
