Greande attack, firing in Upper Asom

Guwahati, Aug 10 (UNI) Pre-Independence Day violence was continuing in Asom with reports of failed grenade attack and blank firing by ULFA reported from Demow area of Sibsagar district today.

In two separate incidents within a span of 30 minutes, a grenade was hurled from a bus on a security patrol party. The grenade missed the target and fell inside a civil hospital but failed to explode.

In the second incident at Demow Chariali, ULFA militants fired six rounds in air to show their presence.
