Eight naxals surrender

Visakhapatnam, Aug 10 (UNI) Eight naxals of CPI (Maoist) party, including two deputy commanders, surrendered before the Visakhapatnam Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Govind Singh.

The surrendered naxals included Maoist Korukonda special squad deputy commander K Krishna Rao (20), Palakajeedi local organising squad deputy commander M Ranga (20), Korukonda local guerilla squad member M Laxmi and extremists of Korukonda area.

Krishna Rao was involved in seven incidents of exchange of fire, two murders, attack on Orissa state police station and one blast.

Ranga was involved in three incidents of exchange of fire and two blasts in which three police personnel were killed.

Laxmi was involved in six incidents of exchange of fire and one attack on police station in the district, according to police.

The police said intensive combing operations resulted in the surrender.
