CAT rulings given in 451,751 out of 476,336 cases till mid-2006
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), set up for adjudication of disputes and complaints regarding recruitment and condition of service of Central Government employees, has dealt with a total of 451,751 cases out of 476,336 cases till June 2006.
Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Suresh Pachouri said in a written reply in the Upper House that 24,585 cases were pending at the end of 2005 before CAT.
In 2005, there were 523 cases when the Government had preferred appeals against CAT rulings while till mid-2006, the number of cases were 255. Last year, in 340 cases adjudicating courts had upheld CAT rulings.
