Call rates trade at 6.0 - 6.1 pc level;Gilts choppy
Mumbai, Aug 10 (UNI) Call rates closed steady at 6.00-6.10 per cent amid moderate demand and sufficient liquidity.
In the call money market yesterday, RBI transacted Rs 16,317.72 crore at the weighted average of 6.08 per cent.
In the first liquidity adjustment, RBI transacted Rs 27,965 crores through 22 bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent.
RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.
Today, RBI fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 46.43/US dollar, as compared to the previous rate of Rs 46.53/USD.
Gilts were choppy in nature. The eleven-year bond (GS 8.07% 2017) traded at Rs 99.35 which gave a yield of 8.16 per cent.
