Cabinet approves rural electrification policy

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The Union Cabinet tonight approved the "Rural Electrification Policy in keeping with the statutory requirement under the Electricity Act, 2003.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons after the meeting that the policy was aimed at improving access and quality of electricity supply in rural areas.
