Cabinet approves fixed tenure for Cabinet Secretary and others

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved a fixed tenure for vital government posts like Cabinet Secretary and Secretaries of Home and Defence and the Chiefs of RAW, Intelligence and CBI.

Accordingly, the Cabinet Secretary would enjoy a minimum tenure of three years.

The Secretaries of Home and Defence and the Chiefs of RAW, Intelligence and CBI would have a minimum tenure of two years, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons after the meeting.
