Brisbane to host Australia v Paraguay

SYDNEY, Aug 10 (Reuters) Brisbane will host the friendly international between Australia and Paraguay on October 7, Queensland Premier Peter Beattie said today.

''Following talks with soccer authorities the Queensland government has secured the match against Paraguay who are ranked 19th in the world while Australia is ranked 33rd,'' Beattie told the Queensland Parliament.

The match between two teams who reached this year's World Cup finals in Germany will be played at Brisbane's Lang Park.
