Bring suitable changes in state's rehabilitation act: Munde

Beed, Maharashtra Aug 10 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde today suggested to bring suitable changes in the rehabilitation act in order to offer adequate assistance to the calamity affected people.

Talking to reporters at the flood affected villages of Majalgaon in Beed district, the former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that though the government has been able to offer food grains, cash assistance, and other things, it won't be able to provide them pucca houses, who have lost their's in the natural calamities.

Considering the lacunas in the present rehabilitation efforts, the government needs to take stock of the same in order to offer adequate assistance to the affected people.

Mr Munde has criticised the Democratic Government's style of addressing the issues of the flood affected people in the state and alleged that the death toll released by the government agencies was far below the real picture.
