BoB merges 3 zonal offices into unified command
Ahmedabad, Aug 10: The Bank of Baroda today unveiled its 10-point strategy by reorganising its zonal set up in Gujarat by integrating the existing three zonal offices of Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat into one office called Gujarat Operations at Ahmedabad.
The general manager in-charge of Gujarat-operations GG Joshi, said the special strategy is meant to catapult the bank to the forefront in Gujarat, which is the leading state in economic growth.
Some of the salient features of the strategy is to make the bank the primary banker in Gujarat and help citizens pay taxes in a simple and easy manner.
Development of infrastructure in the state has also been given a top priority. ''Our plan is to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as these segments have tremendous scope for development,'' Mr Joshi explained.
The bank is committed to partner with the state government in industrial, agricultural, infrastructural and socio-economic development of the state, he revealed.
The Gujarat 10-point strategy announced today was unveiled by the Chief Minister Narendra Modi two months ago. BoB under the unified command of a general manager is aiming to bring its growth strategy in synergy with the present government's policy, Mr Joshi disclosed.
