Blueprint to eradicate unemployment
Aizawl, Aug 10 (UNI) The Mizoram government plans to eradicate unemployment problem in the state by promoting young entrepreneurs into IT sectors, small scale enterprises, agricultural and bamboo based sectors.
The state government has chalked out several plans to prepare a comprehensive five year blueprint on eradicating unemployment problem in the state by 2010.
State chief secretary Haukhum Hauzel, chairperson for the new project, said the government would examine the possibility of creating youth commission to entrust the works of co-ordinating unemployment matters and other related issues.
He stated that the government will also recruit people for the vacant posts of different departments.
''The plans would be submitted to the doner ministry for approval of funds,'' he said.
''We have decided to set up a Sainik school, a nursing college, and various bamboo based industries,'' he further said.
The government's blueprint has emphasised that those in government services and those who would be recruited in future have to be IT savvy.
The government had already exempted Value Added Tax (VAT) for all the local industries for the next seven years.
