Ayodhya attack case hearings cost Rs 50 lakh

Faizabad, Aug 10 (UNI) The transportation of the five accused in the Ayodhya fidayeen attack case from Allahabad's high security Naini Jail to Faizabad district court has already cost the Uttar Pradesh government an estimated Rs 50 lakh, even as the trial is still on.

Official sources said here today each trip to-and-fro Faizabad court costs around Rs 3 lakh. The accumulated expenses so far incurred in this regard is a whopping Rs 50 lakh, which will only add on during subsequent hearings.

The terrorists are escorted by about 30 UP cops led by a deputy police superintendent.

En route to Faizabad, the police in Pratapgarh and Sultanpur districts are also alerted.

The five accused are Shakil, Nasim Ahmad, Asif Iqbal, Mohd Aziz and Dr Irfan.
