Art of living to set up charitable school in kolkata
Kolkata, Aug 10: With a noble thought to set up a charitable school at Alipore here, the founder of the international Art of Living Foundation will be holding an Art of Living Shibir during the coming Kali Puja- Diwali week.
Addressing newsmen Exide Industries CEO S B Ganguly said Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji would be focussing upon stress management through biorythmic breathing techniques or 'pranayam' during the "shibir" to be held from October 22 to 24 and the fund raised during the period would go to the school.
He highlighted the charitable and humanitarian activities of the organisation and said it to be the largest volunteer-based NGO in the world to conduct social,cultural and spiritual activities.
"About 30,000 people are expected to attend the shibir" said Mr Ganguly.
Being nominated for the Noble Peace Prize 2004, Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji has taught people to enjoy life to the fullest amidst all stress and strain, he added.
About the Charitable school at Alipore, Peerless Group Managing Director S K Roy said the day school would be constructed on 1,30,000 square feet land donated by an industrial family for the under privileged children who cannot afford to study at the various schools in the city.
He said the school would not follow the conventional syllabus but would have the real art of living for leading life.
The members also announced that 2006 is the silver jubilee year of the Foundation and the golden Jubilee year of the Founder.
