AP CM advises ministers to do homework for Assembly session
Hyderabad, Aug 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy called upon his Cabinet colleagues and senior officials of Secretariat departments to be prepared for the seventh Session of the State Assembly beginning August 17.
Reviewing a meeting today, the Chief Minister said proper and effective functioning of the Assembly depends on the well preparedness of the entire Government machinery.
He said all issues pertaining to each department, corporations and the general public would be discussed in the Assembly. Dr Reddy wanted all information and notes on all individual departments to be prepared with relevant data and details well in advance and passed on to the Minister concerned.
''The various news items on important issues published daily should be briefed to the Minister concerned along with factual position. Answers to all questions and Motions should be prepared well in advance and the Minister concerned should be briefed about them on time,'' Dr Reddy added.
The Senior most officers should be present physically in the Assembly at the time of discussions pertaining to the subjects of the departments concerned, he added.
He said each department should nominate one Nodal officer for monitoring the issues and subjects and for laison between the Legislative department. Answers should be sent to the Legislature Secretariat LAQs as well as on the pending questions in time, the Chief Minister said.
''Utmost care should be taken in translating the notes into Telugu that are circulated to the members of the House. Besides furnishing answers to the main questions, heads of departments should be in a position to furnish answers to all the supplementary questions that may likely to be raised by the members in time during the session,'' the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also urged the Ministers to entrust the issues pertaining to Assembly session to one of their ''peshi staff members.'' All Secretaries and HoDs were advised to be available during the session and not to leave the headquarters without prior permission of the Chief Minister.
