Alleged ISI operative held; army, airport maps recovered

Lucknow, Aug 10 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police today arrested an alleged Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) operative from Rampur and recovered maps of vital installations, including airports.

STF SP Vijay Bhushan told UNI here Md Afroz was arrested from the Ganj area of Rampur this afternoon. ''Maps of army, airports and certain other installations were recovered from him,'' he added.

The STF sleuths also recovered certain e-mail identities from him, which he was using to communicate with his ''masters in Pakistan''.

STF said a hunt was on to ascertain if Afroz was operating alone or had accomplices. He would be brought here on a transit remand for sustained interrogation.
