Adithan's condition 'very critical': Apollo Hospitals
Chennai, Aug 10 (UNI) The condition of Congress MP Danushkodi Adithan, who suffered serious injuries in a road accident on August 5, 'remains very critical', according to the Apolllo Hospitals here.
Mr Adithan, who was brought here from Tuticorin for specialised treatment, had multiple organ failure.
A panel of specialists were closely evaluating and managing all aspects of the condition in the Critical Care Unit with continuous monitoring, a hospital release here said.
''Presently, his haemodynamic status is stabilised. However, he has multiple organ failure, which is a natural consequence of any major trauma. His respiration is taken care of by ventilatory support. His kidneys are in acute failure secondary to massive trauma and internal bleeding. He is on continuous renal replacement support, a form of dialysis. His bleeding parameters are also deranged. He has multiple bone fractures,' the release said.
Mr Adithan, who underwent above-the-elbow amputation on the right side, had abdominal surgery for evacuation of blood clots at a private hospital in Tuticorin, where he along with his family met with an accident. While his wife was killed, he and his daughter suffered injuries.
After preliminary stablisation at the Tuticorin hospital, he was airlifted and brought here last evening.
