930 backlog vacancies to be filled up
New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) As an ongoing measure to fill up the backlog vacancies in the SC/ST cadres, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) have identified 930 backlog vacancies and has put in motion the process of filling up these slots.
Out of these, 449(235 in SC and 214 in ST) are in the grade of Inspectors and letters of appointment have been dispatched to the selected candidates.
Re-deployment of staff from the Central Surplus Staff Cell of the Department of Personnel and Training has filled 9 vacancies in the cadre of Tax Assistants. 89 posts (22 in SC and 67 in ST) have been also been filled in Group 'D' cadre. Moreover, 6 vacancies in cadres such as Steno- Group III, Junior Hindi Translator, Driver etc (5 in SC and 1 in ST) have also been filled an official release here today said.
For 183 vacancies in the grade of Tax Assistants belonging to SC and ST categories, the result of the successful candidates has been published. Dossiers of the candidates are in the process of being collected for allotment of commissionerates. The local cadre controlling authorities have sent requisition to the Staff Selection Commission/ Employment Exchange for filling up the remaining backlog vacancies.
As regards the promotion quota in the SC/ST category, 249 officers of SC and 220 officers belonging to the ST category have been promoted in Groups 'B' and 'C' cadres.
