4 accused escape police custody, 2 nabbed

Chennai, Aug 10 (UNI) Four persons involved in a robbery case today escaped from police custody while they were being escorted to a court at Tirukazhukundram in Kancheepuram District of Tamil Nadu today.

Reports received at the Police headquarters here said the accused, lodged in the Central Prison, were being taken to the court when they gave slip to the police midway on the pretext of answering nature's call.

However, the three-member escort team swiftly nabbed two of the accused after overpowering them.

A manhunt has been lodged to nab the others.
