Woman with forged passport escapes from Raja Sansi airport

Amritsar, Aug 9 (UNI) A woman with a forged Indian passport escaped from police custody shortly after she was apprehended by the Immigration authorities at the Raja Sansi airport here today, police said.

According to the police the woman, Sukhninder Kaur of Fazilka, was nabbed at the airport when immigration officals found that her passport had been forged. She had embarked from the Air India flight bound for Toronto from New Delhi, via Raja Sansi.

She had caught the Air India flight from New Delhi this morning after landing at the IGI Airport yesterday.

Officals said that the woman was being led to the police post outside the airport terminal, when she escaped in a car which was driven by a relative who had come to receive her. A case under sections 420, 353, 224, 225 and 34 IPC had been registered against her at the Raja Sansi police station.
