Villagers gheraoed guardian minister Ms Vimal Mundada in Beed
Beed, Maharashtra, Aug 9 (UNI) People of flood affected Kothoda and Rajpur villages of Georai tehsil of this district today gheraoed district guardian minister Dr Vimal Mundada to press their long pending demand of permanent rehabilitation.
The villagers gheraoed the minister when Ms Mundada when was on a visit to the flood affected villages in this district.
The villagers, led by Kathoda Sarpanch Anusayabai Rathod and Deputy Sarpanch Vimal Pingle surounded the minister and narrated their difficulties.
According to the villagers, shifting in the rains had become a ritual for them every year since the authorities do not listen to their demand for raising heights of the embankments of he Godavari river. Or the affected villages should be rehabilitated completely on some other land so as to solve the problem forever, they demanded.
The district administration have so far evacuated a total one thousand families from various villages of the Majalgaon and Georai tehsil before the water was released from Jayakwadi dam as a precautionary measures.
Ms Mundada assured the villagers that their demands will be put before the state cabinet.
