UP Police guns down Chambal's dreaded outlaw

Lucknow, Aug 9 (UNI) In a major achievement in its anti-dacoit operation, Uttar Pradesh Police today gunned down dreaded Chambal outlaw Saleem Gujjar and his paramour near Iayana village in Auraiyya district.

Police sources here said on a tip-off a joint team of Auraiyya and Etawah police shot dead the dacoit and his paramour Gita Jatav.

Police recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the encounter spot.

However, other accomplices of the bandit managed to give police a slip.

Senior Police officials including DIG (Kanpur) had rushed to the place. Details are awaited.
