UltraTech's Surat grinding unit shut down due to floods

New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) UltraTech Cement Ltd today said the operations at the company's Grinding Unit in Magdalla, Surat, having a capacity of 0.70 mtpa have been stopped due to heavy rains and floods.

The company is assessing the losses as a result of the shutdown from yesterday.

It has made alternative arrangements for ensuring regular supply to the markets, a company statement said.

UltraTech Cement Limited, makers of premier cement, is a subsidiary of Grasim Industries Ltd, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group. It has five integrated plants, five grinding units, and three terminals two in India and one in Sri Lanka.
