Suzuki Motor targets Y3 trln revenue,more capacity

TOKYO, Aug 9 (Reuters) Japanese auto maker Suzuki Motor Corp. said on Wednesday it will build a new 60 billion yen (0 million) plant in Japan for small cars, to start operating in 2008 with an annual capacity of 240,000 units.

The car maker also said at a briefing that it aims for group revenue of 3 trillion yen in the year to next March.

It said it targets global output of 3 million units in the business year starting in April 2009. Of that target, domestic output would account for 1.24 million units and overseas 1.76 million.

It plans to boost the capacity of its car plant in Hungary to to 300,000 units per year in 2008/09 from 160,000 this year.

It also aims to raise capacity at its Indian unit Maruti to 960,000 in 2009/10 from 630,000 this year and its Pakistan unit's capacity to 170,000 in 2009/10 from 110,000 now.
