Samtel Color's new lines commence operations

Mumbai, Aug 9: Samtel Color Ltd today announced that its two new manufacturing lines, Line 4 and Line 5, have become commercially operational.

Informing the BSE, the Company said its Line 4 (capacity 1.5 mill, Per annum), which manufactures 22-inch super flat CPTs at Ghaziabad and Line 5 (capacity 2.5 mill per annum) which manufactures 21 inch super flat CPTs at Kota, moved into commercial production in July 2006. These new lines have added 4 million tubes per annum to the Company's overall capacity taking it to over 10 million tubes per annum.

As a result of this capacity increase, the Company has reported a sharp increase of 23 per cent in sales for the month of July 2006 at 584,000 tubes against 457,000 tubes in the same month last year.

This is likely to increase going forward as Lines 4&5 begin delivering optimal volumes.

As a result of the shifts within the sector and the full commercialisation of its new lines, the Company has witnessed a noticeable increase in its domestic market share from about 38-40 per cent last year to around 50 per cent now.
