Rs 30 lakh worth brown sugar seized at Guwahati rly station

Guwahati, Aug 9 (UNI) Brown sugar worth Rs 30 lakh was recovered from a person from a Tinsukia-bound train at the Guwahati railway station.

Railway sources informed here today that 310 gm brown sugar was found yesterday inside the bag of one Besu Choudhury by a team of Excise personnel of the railways during regular patrol.

Choudhury was arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

The contraband was seized from the Brahmaputra Mail, linking New Delhi and Tinsukia.

Choudhury confessed that he had boarded the train at Patna and was on way to Tinsukia.
