No-confidence motion against Aziz on Aug 23
Islamabad, Aug 9: The combined opposition in Pakistan today decided to submit a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on August 23, reports said.
Pakistan's private Geo TV channel quoted chief of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Makhdoom Amin Fahim as saying that this was decided after combined opposition's meeting here, called to discuss the no-confidence move to be brought against Mr Aziz.
The joint opposition would take part in the public meeting being convened by the six-party Islamic alliance Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) on August 14 in Lahore, Mr Fahim said.
He said a committee had been formed for the purpose.
The Chairman of Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement (PONM) Mehmood Khan Achakzai will serve as convener of the committee while ARD Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra will be its coordinator.
Other members of the committee include Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Tehmeena Daultana, Chaudhry Aitezaz Ahsan, Nayyar Bukhari, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Liaquat Baloch, Abdur Rauf Mengal, Sahibzada Abul Khair Zuberi and Sahibzada Fazal Karim.
