Ambala, Aug 9 (UNI) BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today said the NDA's boycott of the Lok Sabha proceedings yesterday was in protest against the manner in which Speaker Somnath Chatterjee treated the opposition with regard to the privilege motion against the Prime Minister and the discussion on Pathak inquiry authority report.

The Speaker's conduct on these two issues had compelled the NDA to resort to boycott of the Lok Sabha, she said while talking to reporters here.

She said BJP deputy leader in the House Vijay Kumar Malhotra had given notice of privilege motion against the Prime Minister on the leakage of the Pathak panel report which had reportedly indicted former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh with regard to Iraq's oil-for-food scam.

The leakage was serious matter and an enquiry into the episode should be held, she said and demanded discussions on the two issues.

Ms Swaraj was in town to call on her brother on the occasion of Rakshabandhan today.
