Landslide near pilgrimage centre disrupts vehicular traffic

Nashik, Aug 9 (UNI) Few pilgrims to the Saptashringi fort at Nanduri village in this district were trapped following a landslide due to heavy rains in the region.

Nashik rural police control room sources said a pathway leading to the fort, which is at a height, was blocked due to a landslide in the afternoon. As a result, vehicular traffic was disrupted and a few vehicles were stranded atop.

The landslide occurred at about 1400 hrs today and the clearing work was delayed because of non-availability of PWD labourers due to ''Raksha Bandhan,'' control room sources said.

There were no casualties nor was there any damage to property, the sources said.
