Adopt modern business techniques: Kamal Nath

New Delhi, Aug 9: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath today called upon traders to adopt modern techniques of business in the larger interest of Indian trade.

''Trade is an integral part of the Indian economy and needs to be strengthened,'' Mr Kamal Nath said at a function marking 'Traders Day'.

A delegation of Confederation of All India Traders called on the Commerce and Industry Minister and urged him to protect '' dying internal trade in the country''. It also raised concerns over FDI in retail during the discussion.

It also presented a ''White Paper on Core Trade Issues'' to Mr Kamal Nath. The Minister also launched the ''Traders Flag''.

The Minister assured the delegation that he will take up the issues with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
