Indian sub-junior boxers have mixed luck at world cadet championship

Jamshedpur, Aug 9 (UNI) Indian sub-junior boxers had mixed luck during the second and third day of the world cadet boxing championship at Istanbul, with one win and two losses according to Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) secretary general Col P K Murali Dharan Raja.

Despite putting a spirited fight in the 46 kg category, Prem Prakash Paury lost to Bakhtiyar Nadirov of Kazakhstan 12:14.

In the 50 kg weight category, Sunil Siwachi beat his fancied Kazakhstan opponent Sherstobveb Ruslan on points 24:21. Sunil had the upper edge throughout and was a clear winner despite the score line showing a close bout.

In the 52 kg category, Roshan, who had earlier won his bout on the opening day against an Azerbaijan boxer, unfortunately lost his bout to Kazakhstan boxer Iralyev Aigali on points 17:23. Although he fought valiantly, the judges did not seem to accept many of his punches, which were not counted.

In the 57 kg weight category, Balwinder Singh lost to Algeria's Beaumer Marad on points 16:32.
