Heavy to very heavy rains forecast in Goa

Panaji, Aug 9 (UNI) The weather office has forecast heavy to very heavy rains at a few places in Goa during the next 24 hours, even as the State received 35.6 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Wind will sweep in the west to south westerly direction with speeds ranging from 45 to 60 kmph with gusts and squalls.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture out into the sea which will be very rough.

Goa has so far received 1385.9 mm rains during the season. It experienced 87 per cent relative humidity today with rains lashing the state intermittantly, particularly in the nights.
