Haryana to have quota of 1191 hajis
Chandigarh, Aug 9 (UNI) The India Haj Committee has fixed a quota of 1191 hajis for Haryana for the second batch of pilgrims this year.
Mr M K Midha, Chief Executive Officer of the Haryana State Haj Committee, said as many as 3125 applications were received from across the state as against the fixed quota of 1191 hajis. A draw of lots would be held to select the fortunate pilgrims.
The draw would be held in the office of Deputy Commissioner of Nuh in Mewat in the presence of members of the State Haj Committee and a select group of mauvlis on August 18 he said.
Mr Azad Mohammad, Chairman of the State Haj Committee, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Mewat would also be present on this occasion.
